Who owns toll roads

Whats next our police and firefighters? There is way too much selling to foreign conglomerates and Americans are being denied any sense of accountability! Anytime the government is involved in anything, it costs the taxpayers more, plus there is such a history of poor managing by government entities. If you really want to screw up a good system, let the government and politicians run it. No one ever said politicians are smart.

Selling our roads is selling out the American people. I am ashamed of Texas for becoming involved in this selling off parts of America. Maybe we need to take part of their authority and charge them their salary for payback to the people. It is unbelievable that Americans would allow for Foriegn countries the audacities to build Toll Roads on US soil for profit.

Borrowing money from US citizens then claiming bankruptcy or even suing the State because they did not turn a profit. A month to cross over Austin, they will make a huge profit. It will lesson the traffic load on Austin I35 corridor. However the foreign company is hungry for money. The more they charge the more they gain. By charging a lot of money to cross Austin the push everyone on the non toll roads which complicates the traffic jams.

People this is only Austin if they would do this for all states then they stand a chance to make a profit. Its beneficial to them to make more money by bank ruptcy and blame every thing on the States they service. Then the people of that state has to pay for the mess by increasing taxes. We are Americans we have engineers and the financial ability to kick them foreign companies out. Suing them and their cohorts Our state representatives for placing our state in a bind of conspiracy against our will.

Selling America out…. We are in deep all over this country. The masses are so busy buying tickets to the circus we learn our news from our telephones — are you people kidding me?

Talk about a nut show — watch the nut while we grab, move and eat the cheese! Walk into any room in the country and talk to your neighbor sitting at the table next to you. Who cares that the small remaining native people of these lands are trying to protect Mother Earth.

They are a proud people and I for one am grateful for their courage and strength. President can i call him that or should i refer to him as a social media punchline? What was the deal again?

Seriously this guy? But then prior to George W. One rule was to make it easier for coal companies to DUMP debris from strip mining into valleys and streams. It involves literally removing the top of a mountain to excavate a coal seam and pouring the debris into a valley, which is then filled up with rock. Another midnight regulation BEFORE he left office was to allow power companies to build coal-fired power stations nearer to national parks.

So much for smokey the bear and they never did get the guy that threw the cigarette out the window? Was there a guy? Do we ever really hear how all these fire are set off?

Yet another regulation allowed coal-fired stations to increase their emissions without installing new anti-pollution equipment. Ten Commandments……Anyone??? As children we looked at a colored world, in two generations they will be seeing everything in black and white. Surprise, our roads belong to foreigners now and our prisons are privately owned. Anything else we should know about as law abiding tax payers in the United States of America? What kind of evil corrupt politician would go along with this madness.

The politicians that do are traitors to the USA and the American people. Toll roads are bad enough but selling out to foreigners is an abomination.

No God fearing christian would pull such a stunt. The Congressional Budget Office recently projected that the Trust Fund will be completely out of money by the end of unless drastic actions are taken to restore its solvency. There is a common misconception that our roads and bridges are already paid for. And even with good maintenance, eventually, they will have to be replaced.

People see the roads and drive on them without realizing that the city or state that built the road raised taxes or incurred debt to build the road in the first place and regularly spends tax dollars to maintain the roads. That means that future toll revenues or new tax levies will be needed to build the roads we need for the next 50 years. There are only toll roads and tax-supported roads. The big difference is that you only pay for a toll road when you choose to drive on it.

With tax-supported roads, the taxes you pay on fuel, tires another equipment go to support roads throughout the state and in the case of federal taxes throughout the country that you may never use. Tolling is Double Taxation Tolls are a fair and precise way to pay for transportation facilities because there is a clear and direct link between use of the facility and payment for that use. A toll is a user fee, not a tax. You only pay a toll when you choose to drive on a toll road for a higher level of convenience, reliability or safety.

Toll customers, through the fuel they consume, also pay their share of local, state and federal taxes to fund non-toll roads that are open to all. To meet their growing infrastructure needs, some states use both taxes and tolls to support their roads.

Three decades of success have paved the way for TCA. TCA is committed to working with our partners to ensure the more than 2 million drivers who use our roads continue to benefit from congestion-free alternatives that enhance quality of life.

The same innovative thinking that led to the creation of the 73, , and Toll Roads will be relied upon to solve the transportation challenges of the future. Opens in a new window.
